Paul Roben currently serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Technology Commercialization at the University of California, San Diego, a position held since June 2015. Prior to this role, Paul Roben was the Senior Director of the Office of Technology Development and Director of Business Development at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies from 2010 to May 2015. Paul Roben's experience includes membership in the Innovation Taskforce in Ireland, contributing to national policy on innovation, as well as serving as President of Celtic Consulting, focusing on cleantech and life-science technology commercialization. Additionally, Paul Roben held the position of Director of Lifesciences at Enterprise Ireland, managing a substantial investment portfolio in biotechnology. As a founder of Target Protein Technologies, Paul Roben played a key role in developing tissue-targeted pharmaceuticals. Academic credentials include a Postdoctoral degree from UC San Diego School of Medicine, a Ph.D. in Neutralizing Antibodies and HIV from Dublin City University, and a B.Sc. in Biotechnology from the same institution.
