William Garrity

University Librarian & Vice Provost of Digital Scholarship at UC Davis

William Garrity serves as the University Librarian at the University of California, Davis, since March 2014, where responsibilities include overseeing the University Library system and supervising personnel as Deputy University Librarian and Chief of Staff. Prior to this role, William Garrity held the position of Associate Chief Information Officer and Director of Academic and Campus Technology Services at Dartmouth College from August 1996 to April 2013, leading campus-wide IT services and support. Additionally, William Garrity was the Director of Biomedical Libraries and an Instructor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Dartmouth, managing health and life sciences information resources. William Garrity earned a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Siena College.
