Siri Konanoor is currently an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis, focusing on the role of net charge in molecular movement during GVBD of C. elegans oocytes, with a published paper as a middle author. As a Team Lead for the Algae to Insulin initiative and Genetics Lead, Siri designs genetic constructs for transformation into E. coli and C. Furthermore, Siri co-leads a journal club to promote scientific literacy and is an active team member in a student-led project aimed at genetically engineering C. reinhardtii for recombinant insulin production. Previous research experience includes a study on transcriptional regulation of the lac operon in E. coli and utilizing stochastic simulations to assess vaccine effectiveness against COVID-19. Siri is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis, with past education at Monta Vista High School.
