Mikell F. van der Laan is an experienced technology professional specializing in Big Data architecture and transformation. Currently a Big Data Platform Architect at UBS since February 2019, Mikell has also served as Chief Architect for Big Data at spimewave, llc since September 2016, leading engagements focused on advanced data services. Prior roles include Senior Architect for Big Data Initiatives at CHS, where the focus was on virtualized data services, and Solution Partner at EMC, advising Fortune 50 clients on enterprise architecture and cloud computing. Additional experience includes consulting and management roles in healthcare software engineering, interface design, and UI development across various organizations, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Bell Labs. Mikell holds a B.A. in Governmental Econometrics from The University of Texas at Austin.
