Johannes Wiedemann

Senior Applied Scientist/economist at Uber

Johannes Wiedemann is an accomplished applied scientist and economist currently working at Uber since October 2022, focusing on pricing, experimentation, machine learning models, and data analysis. Johannes completed a PhD in economics and political science at Yale University from August 2016 to August 2022, with research centered on business-government relations and good governance. Prior to this, Johannes served as a Carlo-Schmid Fellow at the World Bank, assisting in macroeconomic research from October 2015 to June 2016, and held various roles including teaching assistant and research assistant at the University of Konstanz. Johannes gained valuable internship experience at the German Embassy in New Delhi and the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, working on economic research and event organization. Johannes possesses a diverse educational background, having also studied at prestigious institutions such as the London School of Economics and the University of Mannheim.
