Anisha Steephen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy advisory and economic development. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor for Racial Equity at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Anisha provides strategic guidance on domestic finance and tax policy implementation. As the Founder and Executive Director of Just Economy Lab, a project focused on racial and economic justice, Anisha convenes policymakers of color to drive systemic change. Previous roles include Director at Hester Street, leading initiatives for the NYC Racial Justice Commission, and Executive Director at Spaceworks NYC, where significant organizational restructuring was executed. Anisha also has a strong background in investment and policy practice from tenure at Local Initiatives Support Corporation and Goldman Sachs, among others. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and History from Columbia University and a Master's degree in City Planning with a focus on Economic Development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
