Wesley Heath

Trial Attorney, Civil Fraud Section at Department of Justice

Wesley Heath currently serves as a Trial Attorney in the Civil Fraud Section at the U.S. Department of Justice since February 2023 and is a member of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Community Steering Committee with the DC Bar since July 2019. Previously, Wesley worked as Of Counsel at Steptoe & Johnson LLP from April 2018 to January 2023, advising clients on energy and commodities government enforcement investigations and litigation. Prior experience includes roles as an Attorney at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from June 2008 to March 2018, where notable achievements included leading a major financial institution's prosecution for market manipulation, and as a Litigation Associate at Shearman and Sterling from October 2003 to May 2008, focusing on complex energy and commercial disputes. Wesley also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia in 2007-2008, handling trial and litigation matters. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor cum laude from Harvard Law School and both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in history and political science from Washington University in St. Louis.
