Sean Flowers currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce, a position held since September 2023. In addition, Sean holds the role of Executive Director at Ready Force Cyber and leads an Incident Response Team for the United States Army Reserve. As a Cyber Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus since July 2019, Sean contributes to academia while also having held various significant positions in prominent organizations, including Security Technical Program Manager at Meta and Senior Technical Program Manager at the U.S. Department of State. Sean's educational background includes pursuing a PhD in Cyber Leadership from Capitol Technology University and holding multiple advanced degrees in business administration and cyber investigation, as well as a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Toledo.
