Sanjeev "Sonny" Bhagowalia serves as the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Information Officer at U.S. Customs and Border Protection since April 2018, leading initiatives to enhance national security through innovation and collaboration. Previously, Sanjeev held various senior roles including Senior Advisor on Technology and Cybersecurity at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Systems at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and Chief Technology Advisor for the State of Hawaii. With extensive experience in information technology and cybersecurity across federal agencies, including the FBI and the Department of the Interior, Sanjeev has a proven track record of overseeing significant technology projects and leading large teams. Sanjeev holds multiple degrees in Electrical Engineering and Information Resources Management from Louisiana State University and Syracuse University, among other institutions.
