Ryan Safner is an accomplished economist currently serving as an Economist at the U.S. Copyright Office since June 2023. Prior to this role, Ryan held various academic positions, most recently as Associate Professor of Economics at Hood College from August 2016 to July 2023, where responsibilities included teaching a diverse range of economics courses, developing a new course on the Economics of the Law, and managing multiple research projects while publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Ryan's academic endeavors included leadership roles such as chair of the university Curriculum Committee and mentoring both students and new faculty. With a Ph.D. in Economics obtained from George Mason University, Ryan also has teaching experience at Wake Forest University and George Mason University, and has contributed to various academic journals as an expert reviewer.
