Jorge Herrada is a seasoned professional in the field of technology innovation, currently serving as the Director of the Office of Technology Innovation at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) since September 2002. In this role, Jorge leads initiatives that position OTI as a hub for financial technology innovation, focusing on driving change and enhancing understanding through collaboration, consulting, and education. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Technology Advisor at LabCFTC, where Jorge specialized in researching emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, and Blockchain, and educating regulatory agencies on these advancements. Additional experience includes a detail as a Senior Technology Advisor at the Federal Reserve Board's TechLab and significant roles at American Management Systems and CGI-AMS, where Jorge contributed as a Senior Principal. Jorge holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and an MS in Information Systems from the London School of Economics.
