John Austin Newcomer is an experienced program manager at the U.S. Coast Guard since October 2007, with a history of roles including Environmental Management educator, Living Marine Resources Officer, and various marine science technician positions. Previously, John served at Sause Bros. Ocean Towing Co., Inc. from September 2005 to August 2006 in multiple capacities, including steward and oiler. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Policy with a focus on Environmental Policy and Program Design & Evaluation from UC San Diego (2022-2024), a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources from Oregon State University (2010-2015), and an Associate’s Degree in Business from Southwestern Oregon Community College (2006-2007).
