Lead System Engineer at U-Haul

Jason Brown has over 20 years of experience in system engineering and administration. Jason currently works as a Lead System Engineer at U-Haul International, Inc. Prior to that, they served as an Infrastructure System Engineer IV and Infrastructure Systems Engineer IV at AAA Insurance Group from 2006 to 2019, where they were responsible for system documentation, disaster recovery drills, and the design and implementation of Linux and Solaris system clusters. Before that, Jason worked at MSC Software as a MTS II UNIX Systems Administrator, managing the UNIX environment, supporting Oracle databases, and managing Netapp NAS and EMC SAN environments. Jason also served as a UNIX Systems Administrator at SimpleTech, where they designed and supported the UNIX environment, managed Netapp and NetForce NAS servers, and maintained the corporate sendmail e-mail system. Jason's career began at ESIS, Inc as a UNIX Systems Administrator, where they administered and maintained the Solaris environment, managed databases and webservers, implemented and supported the corporate sendmail e-mail system, and administered the corporate firewall.

Jason Brown holds a Masters of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, which they obtained from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Information Systems from the same institution, completing it from 1998 to 2000. Jason also obtained a High School Diploma from San Ramon Valley High School, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, they have acquired several certifications, including "Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals" from Microsoft (2021) and "LFS258: Kubernetes Fundamentals" from The Linux Foundation (2020). Jason has also obtained a "Sun Certified System Administrator" certification from Sun Microsystems.
