Melissa Jo Burchett Basham has over three decades of experience in food safety and quality assurance. Currently serving as a Supervisor in Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Tyson Foods since August 2014, a position held since the acquisition of Hillshire Brands where Melissa Jo Burchett Basham worked in the same role starting January 2003. Prior to this, Melissa Jo Burchett Basham held positions as Farm Secretary and Equine Specialist at Ben-D Farm from January 1990 to January 2003 and as a Veterinary Technician at Linworth Animal Hospital from September 1987 to December 1988. Melissa Jo Burchett Basham earned a degree in Applied Science and Technology, Agriculture and Animal Science from Morehead State University between 1979 and 1985.
