Wenlong Zhang, Ph.D., currently serves as Manager of System Engineering and previously held the title of Process Engineer at Twist Bioscience since May 2020. Prior to this role, Wenlong was a Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on Nanomaterial Integrated Devices for the Detection of Extracellular Vesicles from September 2019 to May 2020. Wenlong's experience includes a position as a Research Assistant at Penn State University from September 2013 to December 2019, where projects involved Nanomaterial Integrated Devices for the Diagnosis of Infectious Diseases and the Aerosol-Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition (AACVD) System for the Synthesis of Patterned Vertically Aligned Carbon Nanotubes. Additionally, Wenlong contributed as a Teaching Assistant for various biomedical engineering courses during this time and had a brief stint as a Visiting Researcher at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 2016. Wenlong holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Penn State University (2013-2019) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Peking University (2009-2013).
