Kay Clopton has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Starting in 1998, Clopton worked as an Office Manager at Riverwatch Tower until 2001. From 2001 to 2004, they served as an Administrative Assistant at the American Cancer Society, where they provided support to different departments and managed the Daffodil Days program. In 2005, Clopton interned at OCLC's Department of Research, working on projects related to materials search. At The Ohio State University, they served as a Graduate Teaching Associate from 2009 to 2015, teaching writing courses and introductory courses in popular culture. Clopton continued their journey at the university as a Graduate Administrative Associate from 2016 to 2017. In 2016, they also started working as an Online Tutor at Tutor.com, assisting students with essay writing and reading. Since 2018, Clopton has been associated with The Ohio State University as an Assistant Professor - Practice, initially starting as a Mary P. Key Resident, and later transitioning to their current role as a Humanities and Social Sciences Librarian. In their current role, they work with Special Collections at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, contributing to various library and museum activities.
Kay Clopton earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The Ohio State University in 2001. Kay then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Comparative Studies from The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2011. Subsequently, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Comparative Studies from The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2018. In 2004 to 2006, Kay also attended Kent State University and completed a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree with a focus on Library and Information Science.
