Nicole DeNamur has been working in the scientific field since 2014 when they were a Summer Intern at Birch Aquarium at Scripps. Nicole then worked as a Membership Coordinator at Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley in 2017. In 2018, they became an Undergraduate Researcher in the Boots Lab at UC Berkeley, where they were trained in insect handling/care, dilutions, data collection, microscopy, and viral counting. In 2019, they were an NSF REU | Undergraduate Researcher in the Becket Lab at CSUSM, where they worked on a project to investigate antibiotic resistance in the ocean microbiome. In 2020, they were a Research Associate at VolitionRx, where they designed and conducted experiments to develop a non-invasive, blood-based test that detects circulating nucleosomes and allows for the early detection of cancer. Currently, they are a Research Associate at Tune Therapeutics, where they plan and performs cellular & molecular assays in the lab to treat diseases using epigenetic editing.
Nicole DeNamur obtained their Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2020, with Honors in Integrative Human Biology and a Minor in Anthropology. Nicole had attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2016 to 2020. Additionally, they had attended the University of Cambridge in 2018.
