Chris Reed is a longtime resident of Porterville. She has served TCOE for more than 30 years, including as a county board member, as the board liaison for the federal Head Start program (operated by the Early Childhood Education Program), and as a board member for the Eleanor Roosevelt Community Learning Center, which serves families with home-schooled children. She also volunteers at Sierra Vista Hospital as a Pink Lady.
