James Smith currently serves as a Policy and Campaigns Support Officer (Northern) at the Trades Union Congress since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Cabinet Officer for the London Borough of Newham from January 2022 to January 2023 and Deputy Regional Director for the Labour Party in the London Region from April 2019 to January 2022. In earlier positions, James worked as a Governance Officer at the House of Commons from December 2016 to April 2019 and as a Caseworker before that. James began professional experience as an Administration & Finance Officer at the London Borough of Hackney from August 2014 to June 2016. James holds a BA in History from SOAS University of London and attended Prince Henry's High School from 2007 to 2011.
