Malay Shah has extensive work experience in the technology sector. Malay is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at TSS Consultancy Pvt Ltd, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Morgan Stanley for over 15 years in various roles. Their most recent position at Morgan Stanley was as an Executive Director in the Fixed Income Derivatives and Commodities (FIDCOM) Technology department, where they served from January 2021 to July 2022. Before that, they held the positions of Vice President in Application Infrastructure and FIDCOM Technology, Vice President in Application Infrastructure, and Associate in Equities Middle Office and Equities IT. Malay started their career at Morgan Stanley as a Pretrainee in Law IT.

Malay Shah obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai from the year 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Masters's degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University between 2004 and 2005.
