Rick Folkerts has a long history of working in the security and IT fields. Rick currently serves as Principal Security Analyst at Truvantis, Inc. Prior to this, they were Manager, IT Risk Management at MGM Resorts International from 2018 to 2021. From 2010 to 2018, they were in the United States Air Force, where they held a number of roles including AFIMSC IG Chief of Center Exercises, Chief, Nuclear Command and Control-Space Systems, and Command Test Manager - Communications and Information. From 2011 to 2018, they were Network Operations Officer for US Air Force/US Forces-Afghanistan. From 2006 to 2010, they were System Controller for the United States Air Force.

Rick Folkerts holds a Master of Science (MS) in IT Management from Webster University, which they completed in 2009. Rick also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Information Systems from Park University, which they completed in 2001. Additionally, they hold several certifications, including a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA (obtained in May 2020), a Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from ISACA (obtained in January 2020), a CompTIA Security+ Certification from CompTIA (obtained in February 2010), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)2 (obtained in January 2018), a OneTrust Cookie Consent Expert from OneTrust (obtained in December 2020), a OneTrust Vendor Risk Management Expert from OneTrust (obtained in June 2020), a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (obtained in March 2018), a CISSP from ISC2, a PMP from PMI, and a Security+ from CompTIA.
