Gregory Leong has over 25 years of experience in the corporate finance and private equity industries. Gregory began their career in 1995 as a Group Manager at Markowitz & McNaughton (MMI), where they managed client acquisition programs for strategic and financial buyers and provided strategic consulting services. In 2002, they joined JPMorgan Chase as an Associate, where they originated, structured, and executed leveraged finance transactions, including LBOs, high yield and emerging market bond issuances, acquisition financings, and debt private placements. Gregory also performed a broad range of corporate finance duties, including M&A advisory, modeling, valuations, comparables transactions analysis, and credit ratings advisory. In 2005, they joined H&Q Asia Pacific as a Vice President, where they executed and sourced private equity investments in Greater China and SE Asia. Gregory also structured equity investments for growth capital, take private, and leveraged buyout opportunities. In 2008, they joined The Blackstone Group as a Managing Director, where they sourced and executed private equity investments in Greater China and SE Asia, as well as cross-border/outbound opportunities. Gregory also assisted with fundraising for global & RMB funds, and managed relationships with Asian LPs. In 2012, they joined IFC - International Finance Corporation as a Principal Investment Officer, where they sourced and executed private equity and credit investments in Asia, focusing on SE Asia, Greater China, and the Pacific. In 2014, they joined Arocrest Company as a Partner, where they developed corporate investment strategy and procedures for multi-family investment office, managed co-investment process, built, managed and trained investment team. In 2015, they joined TruTag Technologies as a Board Director. In 2017, they joined Mid-Pacific as a Member Board Of Trustees. In 2016, they co-founded Kingfisher Mobile Limited, where they served as the Chief Financial Officer. At Kingfisher, they worked to change the way consumers own, access, and experience their smartphone.
Gregory Leong has a diverse educational background, beginning with their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from The George Washington University in Finance, General, which they completed in 1991. Gregory then attended the Mandarin Training Center at National Taiwan Normal University in 1992-1993. In 1999-2000, they completed a Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in International Economics & China Studies. Finally, they completed their MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Accounting and Finance in 2000-2002. Gregory also attended Georgetown Prep, though no degree or field of study is listed.
