Venkatesh Potdar

Tech Director/ Solutions Architect at Truminds Software Systems

Venkatesh Potdar has extensive experience in the software development and telecommunications industry. Venkatesh is currently working as a Tech Director/ Solutions Architect at Truminds Software Systems, where they lead a team of 25+ engineers focused on 5G-ORAN development and testing. Venkatesh has delivered solutions related to simulation of Slice SLA assurance, Traffic Steering, RAN control, and KPI monitoring.

Prior to their current role, Venkatesh worked at ADTRAN for over 12 years, serving as an ENG Director and RTE (Technical Program Manager) and later as a Sr. Eng Manager. During their time at ADTRAN, they led the development of cutting-edge GPON and XGS-PON ONTs and residential gateways, introducing numerous products to the market. Venkatesh also demonstrated project successes using iterative waterfall, Agile, and SAFe models with team sizes between 50-80.

Before ADTRAN, Venkatesh worked at Tellabs as a Staff Engineer and a Sr. Software Engineer. Venkatesh was responsible for delivering a GigE line card on the AccessMax MSAP and handling field issues related to the AccessMax DLC system. During their time at Tellabs, they worked on various projects related to VoIP, broadband call control, ATM DSLAM, ADSL, SHDSL, and V5.

Venkatesh started their career at Aricent (formerly Hughes Software Systems) as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on the V5.2 protocol stack as the BCC component owner.

Overall, Venkatesh has had a diverse range of experiences in leading teams, delivering solutions, and managing projects in the telecommunications industry.

Venkatesh Potdar completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Osmania University, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. Venkatesh then pursued a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) between 1994 and 1996. Aside from their formal education, Venkatesh also obtained several certifications related to Agile methodologies. In September 2017, they became a SAFe 4 Certified Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. Following this, they obtained certifications as a Certified SAFe 4 Release Train Engineer in December 2018 and as a Certified SAFe 4 Scrum Master in May 2019, also from Scaled Agile, Inc.
