Fiona Shanahan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in humanitarian protection and gender issues, currently serving as a Senior Humanitarian Protection Adviser at °Õ°ù󳦲¹¾±°ù±ð since October 2015. Fiona's work includes representation at inter-agency levels on the protection of women and girls in emergencies, alongside developing evidence-based approaches and training materials for emergency responses. Previous roles include Senior Post-doctoral Researcher at University College Cork, where evaluations of protection programs for Syrian refugees were conducted, and Gender and Human Rights Consultant for the Irish Embassy in Sierra Leone. Fiona holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from University College Cork, complemented by an extensive academic and practical background in research, gender advocacy, and psychological support services.
