Filippo Marchetti

Strategic Advisor (data Protection) at Trilateral Research

Filippo Marchetti has a diverse work experience in research, teaching, and risk management. Filippo is currently the Head of Strategic Impact at Trilateral Research. Before this, they served as a Senior Researcher and Manager, focusing on law and ethical AI, machine learning, anti-money-laundering law, drone law, and data protection law. Filippo also worked as a Research Analyst at the same company. In addition to their work at Trilateral Research, they have worked as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Università Bocconi, teaching International Law and European Union Law. Filippo has also worked as a Research Fellow and Junior Researcher in International and European Union Law at the University of Milan, where they conducted research, policy analysis, and project management in areas such as internet data privacy/security and cross-border litigation. Filippo started their professional career as an intern in Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance at PwC.

Filippo Marchetti's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in International Law and Economics from Università Bocconi. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in International Relations and a Bachelor's degree in International and European Studies, both from Università degli Studi di Milano. Before their university studies, Marchetti graduated from Liceo Scientifico V. Volterra in Fabriano, where they completed their scientific high school education.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Marchetti has obtained several certifications. These include the Open Source Intelligence and Online Investigations (OSINT) certification from Bellingcat in 2019 and the EU Data Privacy Practitioner certification from IBITGQ (International Board for IT Governance Qualifications) in 2018. Filippo also participated in various summer schools, such as the Private International Law summer school at The Hague Academy of International Law in 2015 and 2012, the International Financial Law and Regulation summer school at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2013, and the Strategic Management summer school at LSE in 2012. Additionally, they hold certifications in English proficiency - a TOEFL score of 113/120 obtained in 2013 and an IELTS score of 7.5/9.0 obtained in 2012. Furthermore, Marchetti participated in the Harvard National Model United Nations program in 2012. Filippo also holds a certification in German language proficiency from Inlingua, obtained in 2005.
