Sara Nichols is a graduate of Syracuse University in 1969, she was an international fight attendant for TWA for 18 years. During that time she received a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and a JD degree from Villanova Law School. Ms. Nichols was a Public Defender for long enough to realize that working eighteen hours a day seven days a week was not adequate to fairly represent the defendants in her case load. She was offered the position of Staff Attorney for the Clean Air Council in Philadelphia, PA, after doing pro bono work for the organization for over a year, during which time she continued her job as a flight attendant. She served on many local, regional and state-wide boards and councils while residing in Pennsylvania. She took a leave of absence to run for US Congress in 1994 but lost to a 5-term incumbent. Sara Nichols has been an advocate for various environmental organizations and political candidates who support environmental sustainability and conservation for since she moved to Los Angeles in 1996. She served on the Mulholland Design Review board for three years, Americans for a Safe Future board for 4 years and her homeowners’ association board for 5 years; as its President for one year. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Sullivan Canyon Preservation Association and TreePeople. She is active with Planned Parenthood Guild, Conservation International, Alzheimer’s Association political fundraising and the Bioneers.
