Mehrdad Mehraein, PhD, PE, SE, is a Senior Bridge Engineer at TranTech Engineering, LLC since August 2022 and a Part-Time Lecturer at the University of Washington, teaching senior and graduate-level courses in Reinforced Concrete Systems. Previously serving as a Project Engineer and Team Lead at HNTB from January 2019 to August 2022, Mehrdad was responsible for structural analysis, design of various structures, and preparation of design drawings. Prior roles include Bridge Designer at COWI North America, contributing to load rating analyses, and Bridge Structural Engineer at Gandhi Engineering, providing construction support for significant bridge projects. Mehrdad earned a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, after completing a Master's in Earthquake Engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
