Rebecca Valdez's work experience is as follows:
- From January 2016 to present, they have been working as an Environmental Compliance Specialist at TranSystems. Rebecca supports the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) with Monitoring and Technical Assistance (MTAC) oversight for the western region of the United States, including the California High Speed Rail (CHSR) Project. Their responsibilities include assisting the grant manager system on over 60 projects.
- From April 2011 to October 2015, they worked as an Associate Biologist at ECORP Consulting, Inc. Their main project was TRTP, where they served as an Assistant Lead monitor, nesting bird monitor, construction monitor, and surveyor within the Antelope Valley and Angeles National Forest.
- In 2010, they worked as a Biologist at The Wildlife Project. Rebecca received extensive field training and conducted surveys for various species, including California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, Swainson's Hawk, Golden Eagle, Western pond turtle, and fairy shrimp.
- From 2005 to 2009, they served as a Wildlife Rehabilitator at Humboldt Wildlife Care Center. Their responsibilities included providing care for injured or orphaned wildlife, maintaining cages, and responding to public inquiries related to wildlife.
- In 2008, they worked as a Youth Education Intern at California Waterfowl Association. Rebecca conducted educational programs and assisted with the Junior Duck Stamp program.
- In 2006, they worked as a Vector Control Aide at Contra Costa Mosquito & Vector Control District. Their duties included controlling yellow jacket populations and assisting County residents with vector control issues.
- From 2004 to 2005, they were a Wildlife Rehabilitator and Youth Programs Assistant at Lindsay Wildlife Museum. Rebecca supervised and trained youth volunteers, educated visitors about the environment, and updated volunteers about museum events and exhibits.
Rebecca Valdez completed their education at Humboldt State University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation. Prior to that, they attended Los Medanos College from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Biology, General. In addition to their formal education, Rebecca obtained certification as an Associate Wildlife Biologist from The Wildlife Society in October 2014.
