Tom Marchal is a Research Analyst at Transtrend since September 2021, previously serving as a Quant Trainee at PGGM from September 2019 to August 2021, where participation in a rotation program across four teams focused on Rates, Credit & Insurance Linked Investments, Data Science, and Systematic Equities occurred. Prior to that, Tom conducted thesis research at Nationale Bank van België, exploring the computation of a branch’s economic contribution through machine learning techniques. Earlier experience includes roles as Sales & Projects Manager at Junior Consulting and an internship in corporate finance at B-Sure, along with serving as a mathematics tutor at UHasselt. Tom holds a Master of Science in Computational Statistics from Ghent University and a Master in Business Engineering from Hasselt University, among other degrees, including a Bachelor in Business Engineering, earned Magna Cum Laude from Hasselt University.
