Simphiwe Mbuli is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as the Senior Manager for Environmental Compliance and Permitting at Transnet SOC Ltd since April 2018. This role involves the development and implementation of water and biodiversity strategies, as well as managing historical environmental liabilities and remediation strategies. Prior to this, Simphiwe held the position of Environment, Health and Safety Manager at Transnet National Ports Authority from April 2015 to March 2018, overseeing a wide range of health, safety, and environmental management initiatives. Simphiwe's career includes significant roles at the City of Johannesburg, where responsibilities spanned project management of waste management and public works programs, and various positions within environmental management at the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the National Department of Public Works.
