Alex Luta currently serves as the East Asia Lead Analyst at TransitionZero, a position held since July 2024. Prior to this role, Alex was the Project Lead for Japan at Aurora Energy Research from September 2022 to March 2024 and worked as a Senior Consultant at AFRY from November 2019 to August 2022, following a previous position as a Consultant at POYRY MANAGEMENT CONSULTING (UK) LIMITED. Experience includes advocacy for climate policy at Sandbag Climate Campaign, where Alex managed over 200 meetings with EU institutions, and advisory work on Japanese energy policy at Enersense International OY. Early career roles include a research position at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and an internship at the United Nations Department of Political Affairs. Alex holds a BA in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College, an MSc in World Politics from the University of Helsinki, and conducted research in International Relations at the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
