Emily Maurin-Waters

National Research And Policy Advisor at Transgender Law Center

Emily Maurin-Waters serves as the National Research and Policy Advisor at the Transgender Law Center since November 2018 and as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University School of Social Work since September 2018. Previously, Emily held roles such as State Advocacy Consultant for GLSEN and Senior Manager of National Research and Policy at the New York City Anti-Violence Project, where responsibilities included leading initiatives to address violence against LGBTQ communities. Emily's experience extends to program assistance at the University of North Carolina's Title IX team, monitoring and evaluation internships, and volunteer coordination for refugee health initiatives. Academically, Emily holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Welfare from UCLA, alongside a Master of Public Health and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California.
