Alain has more than thirty years of experience, specialising in corporate and competition law, including business law, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, EU competition law, agency and distributorships.
In the field of corporate law, his primary focus is on mergers and acquisitions and the negotiating and drafting of contracts (including sales and service agreements , distribution agreements, agency agreements, concession agreements, and loan and lease agreements). He also advises on matters related to advertising, promotions and fair trade practices.
His antitrust practice includes the provision of advice to businesses and organisations in their dealings with the competition authorities, both in terms of market concentration and restrictive practices. Alain regularly gives customized in-house presentations on these subjects, specifically tailored to the individual company's needs and risk profile.
Alain has extensive experience and has worked with major corporations across diverse industries, including the telecommunications and energy sectors among many others.
He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1983 and has previously worked as a lawyer at a number of leading international Belgium law firms. In 1993 he was one of the founders of our Belgian affiliate, concentrating on international and Belgian business clientele.
Alain holds a degree in law (University of Antwerp, 1982) and Master of Laws (Georgetown University, 1983).
Alain speaks and works in English, French and Dutch.
