Daniel S. has a diverse work experience starting in 2006 at the University of Cantabria, where they worked as a Contract Researcher on Real-Time Distributed Systems. During this time, they designed and developed network protocols and wrote drivers and a file system for a real-time operating system.
In 2012, they joined Nagoya University as a Contract Researcher on Reliable Embedded Virtualization. Here, they developed SafeG, a software written in ARM assembly code that allows multiple operating systems to run on the same processor.
From 2013 to 2021, Daniel worked at Toshiba Corporation, initially as a Senior Linux embedded software engineer and later as a Tech lead and expert Linux embedded software engineer. Daniel led the development of a new embedded Linux distribution, customized the operating system, and led working groups for software updates. Daniel also contributed to various open source projects and developed skills in kernel driver development, OS customization, and cloud OS customization.
Currently, they are working at Trackingplan (YC W22) as a Senior Software Engineer and Customer Success Manager. In this role, they work on developing and maintaining features on the server-side, frontend, command line tools, and client support. Daniel also focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction and collaboration with the product team and account engineers.
Daniel S. completed their education in a chronological manner. Daniel first attended Universidad de Cantabria from 1999 to 2006, where they earned a Masters in Telecommunications Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications, Networks, and Electronics. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services at Nagoya University from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Daniel has obtained multiple edX Verified Certificates in various fields, including Cell Biology, Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing, Molecular Biology (DNA Replication and Repair, Transcription and Transposition), and Principles of Synthetic Biology.
