Takuya Nishimura is a Specially Appointed Professor at Shizuoka University since June 2023 and simultaneously serves as a project manager in the Material Engineering Division at Toyota Auto Body. With extensive experience at Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd. since January 2015 as General Manager, Takuya specializes in the development of biomaterials, biocomposites, and forest products for the automotive industry. Previously, Takuya worked as a Research Officer at the University of Bath from April 1998 to March 2001, where a fiber orientation measuring system for oriented strand board (OSB) was developed using image analysis as part of an EPSRC-funded program. Takuya holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Timber Engineering and Forest Products from the University of Tokyo.
