Michelle Barron was elected to the Board of Education in 2023. Ms. Barron is employed as the Community Collaboration Division Deputy Director of Programs at Kenneth Young Center, a longtime community partner. She has held that role since 2022, working collaboratively with all levels of leadership to determine policies, protocols and procedures that will protect staff and the community. Equipped with a social-emotional learning and finance background, Ms. Barron began working at Kenneth Young Center after college, serving the District 211 community through various grants. She has lived in the District 211 boundaries since elementary school, and she and her partner are graduates of Hoffman Estates High School and have a daughter who will attend their alma mater. She has presented in both Spanish and English on a variety of topics at parent education nights.
