David Ferguson is a dedicated law enforcement professional with extensive experience in security and public safety, currently serving as a Law Enforcement Officer for the Town of Cornelius since May 2022. Prior to this role, Ferguson worked at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office from June 2007 to May 2022 as a Detention Officer. In addition to law enforcement duties, Ferguson founded The Coping Cop, a website offering support and resources for first responders, driven by a personal mission to enhance mental health awareness after experiencing life's challenges.
