Lawrence Chien has extensive work experience in the medical field. Lawrence started their career in 2003 as an Emergency Medicine Physician at AEMA and remained there until 2016. From 2016 to 2019, they served as a Medical Director at Texas Health Emergency Rooms. Then, they worked as a Facility Medical Director at Adeptus Health from 2019 to 2020. Currently, Lawrence is the Medical Director at TotalCare starting from 2021.

Lawrence Chien completed their Master of Science in Healthcare Management requirements at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas in April 2016. Lawrence pursued an Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Henry Ford Hospital from1996 to 1999. Prior to that, Lawrence obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the UT Southwestern Medical Center from 1992 to 1996. Lawrence began their academic journey at Rice University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biochemistry from 1988 to 1992.
