Ali Syed, P.Eng. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in grid operations and electrical design, currently serving as Senior Manager of Grid Operations Engineering and Event Management at Toronto Hydro since April 2017. Prior roles include Manager of Distribution Grid Operations and Grid Modernization Supervisor at InnPower Corporation, where significant contributions were made towards enhancing system reliability and implementing Smart Grid initiatives. Ali's background also includes positions at Magna International as an Electrical Design Engineer for automotive lighting, where production designs and validations were developed, and at CAMI Automotive, where impactful control systems engineering projects resulted in substantial cost savings. Ali holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Western University.
