Bev grew up in a family of cat lovers in outport Newfoundland. After graduating from the Memorial University of Newfoundland (B.A. Hons. History), she moved to Toronto to attend York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, LL.B. Bev adopted her first big city cat in 1993. She has worked as a lawyer in financial services for most of her career but now spends her time caring for three former barn cats who help her knit.
