Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Matthew Jenkins retired from the US Navy in 2019 after 20 years of service in the Special Operations community, including SEAL Team Four, SEAL Team Two, Naval Special Warfare Group Two Training Detachment, SEAL Team Eight, and finishing with eight years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
During his Navy career, Chief Jenkins conducted Eight combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and several other missions worldwide. His combat commendations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, two Joint Service Commendation Medals with combat valor, four Navy and Marine Commendation Medals with combat valor, two Presidential Unit Citations, and numerous other joint and individual awards.
Shortly after retirement, Mr. Jenkins accepted the role of Vice President of Tomahawk Strategic Solutions. He is grateful for the opportunity to rejoin former teammates and continue their life’s work together—protecting and defending America and its people. In this new capacity, he is eager to help both the public and private sectors better protect themselves and the communities in which they serve and live: to prepare first responders certainly, but also the individual citizens who may find themselves suddenly in harm’s way.
Both of Mr. Jenkins’ grandfathers and his great grandfather served in combat in WWII. He was born in Charleston, SC but grew up a Navy brat who lived in five states and one foreign country before finally landing in Durham, NH where he enlisted in the US Navy in 1999. He graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training in April of 2000.
