Douwe Jan IJlst is an experienced MAIT Engineer at TNO since June 1993, specializing in complex 3D CMM measurements for space hardware in cleanroom environments. Responsibilities include developing measurement procedures, programming measurement strategies for Zeiss Prismo Ultra, analyzing results, and ensuring quality control in the cleanroom. Douwe Jan also has a background as a professional photographer, creating mood boards and product photos for various publicity materials. Previous roles include research instrumentmaker focused on manufacturing lightweight optical mirrors and experimental machining, as well as a fine mechanical instrument maker at Nikhef, where experience was gained in instrument integrations for CERN. Educational qualifications include a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from The Hague University and a vocational photography degree from the Nederlandse Academie voor Beeldcreatie, alongside training in precision engineering from the Leidse Instrumentmakers School.
