Charles Shawn Byrd is an experienced Technical Manager at Tinius Olsen since December 2013, specializing in materials testing and standards application across various platforms. Byrd actively contributes to multiple ASTM International Committees, focusing on areas such as steel, concrete, composite materials, mechanical testing, and fasteners. Prior to Tinius Olsen, Byrd served as Operations Manager at IMR KHA Portland from January 2006 to December 2013, overseeing the machining, testing, and analysis of materials to meet customer specifications. Byrd holds a degree in Mechanical/Material Science from Oregon State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies/Technicians from the US Navy CLEP, along with further education from the University of Connecticut.
