Avthar Sewrathan has been working in the tech industry since 2013. In 2013, they were a speaker and public speaking coach for TEDxUWCCR. In 2015, they founded Zayo, a social enterprise that empowers female students in developing countries with a foundation in cognitively optimal learning techniques through an introduction to computer science. That same year, they also interned as a software engineering intern at Princeton University, where they designed, developed and tested an iOS App for Debaters. In 2017, they co-founded Afari Inc., a decentralized social network that gave people more privacy and ownership over their data. That same year, they also worked as a learning coach at The McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning, Princeton University. In 2017, they also worked as a product manager and business intelligence at Andela. Since 2019, they have been the Lead Product Marketing Manager at Timescale, where their team is responsible for all of Timescale's developer products. They are also a Developer Advocate.
Avthar Sewrathan has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Princeton University, an International Baccalaureate from United World College Costa Rica, and studied Entrepreneurial Leadership at African Leadership Academy.
