Haotian Zhang is an experienced Machine Learning Engineer and Tech Lead with a strong background in large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence. Currently, Zhang is building the TikTok Vancouver office as a machine learning engineering leader. Zhang previously served as Founding Staff MLE at LlamaIndex, focusing on LLM and AI advancements, and held several roles at Wish, including Tech Lead Manager, where leadership was provided for a team of engineers working on search and structured data projects. Zhang's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Information Retrieval and NLP from the University of Waterloo, complemented by a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science from Harbin Institute of Technology. Early experience includes internships at Oracle and Adobe, where expertise in machine learning and software development was gained.
