René Dekker has worked in the software engineering field since 2011. Starting as a Data Analyst at Rathenau Instituut in 2011, they then moved to Crystalloids Innovations in 2013 as a Software Developer and Junior Software Developer. In 2017, they joined Grow Technologies as a Data Engineer and Software Engineer. Most recently, René has been with Tigera since 2019, where they are a Software Engineering Manager and Senior Software Engineer - Data. In this role, they work on Tigera's Kubernetes native service which provides security and observability across multi-cluster, multi-cloud and hybrid deployments.

René Dekker obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Media Technology from HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) between 2004 and 2008. In 2007, they obtained their PRINCE2 Foundation certification from the Office of Government Commerce. René then went on to obtain their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Studies from the University of Amsterdam between 2011 and 2013. In 2016, they obtained their Google Cloud Platform Fully Qualified Developer certification from Google.
