Carla is passionate about combining new technologies with learning best practices that engage students. Outside of work, Carla loves baseball (Cubs and Astros), motorsports (IndyCar and Formula1), and volunteering at the Boone County Animal Shelter.

Carla spent the last few decades in higher education teaching and designing mostly online courses in brewing science, communication, radio production, mass media, web development, and theater. Previously, she worked in radio as on-air talent, production manager, continuity, and general manager. From 2009-2021, she co-owned and ran an informational website focused on beer news and events in the Cincinnati area.
