Jake Nickell has a long and varied work experience. Jake began their career in 1995 as a cook and delivery driver at Pizza Hut. In 1998, they moved on to become a Sales Associate at CompUSA. In 1999, they became a Programmer at Cyberworks Media Group. In 2000, they founded and became the CEO of Threadless. Finally, in 2006, they took on a Temporary Professor role at The Art Institute of Chicago.

Jake Nickell attended The Art Institutes from 1999 to 2001, where they earned a degree in Multimedia / Web Design with a field of study in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia and Information Resources Design.
