Samuel Compton is an experienced electrical and mechanical engineer with a progressive career spanning multiple roles in prominent companies. Currently, Samuel serves as the Electrical Engineering Supervisor and Lead Firmware Engineer at Thorlabs since October 2020, following positions at Seagate Technology as Senior Engineer and Production Automation Software Engineer from January 2018 to October 2020. Prior experience includes a Graduate Research Assistant role at Colorado State University, Mechanical Engineer I at Freeport-McMoRan, and internships at Freeport-McMoRan, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and ArcelorMittal. Samuel holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
