Duane Treadon

Adjunct Professor at Thomas University

Duane Treadon, GISP, currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of GIS at Thomas University since January 2023. With extensive experience at the City of Thomasville, starting in December 1993, Duane holds multiple roles including Manager of Municipal Court, Records & Crime Analysis Divisions at the Thomasville Police Department, and Director of Geographic Information Systems. Responsibilities include implementing and developing a comprehensive GIS system for municipal use. Additionally, Duane has contributed to zoning administration, community development, and school resource officer programs. Active in various organizations, Duane holds board member positions with the Marguerite Neel Williams Boys & Girls Clubs, SHRUG GIS, and the Georgia Alliance of Preservation Commissions. Education includes a MGIS in Geographic Information Systems from Penn State University, a BS in Criminology from Florida State University, and an AA in General Studies from Valencia College.
